Members of Preston Rotary Club helped out again this year with the Marie Curie Great Daffodil
appeal in March.
12 Rotarians and partners spent a total of 26 hours at Morrisons supermarket in Paignton over
3 days during March and with other volunteers helped raise over £1550 for Marie Curie.
The Great Daffodil Appeal has helped to raise substantial funds each year for Marie Curie since
it began in 1986 and the yellow daffodil is one of the most well known symbols associated with
Yvonne Childs, President of Preston Rotary Club said: “Marie Curie nurses are there when we
need them most and we are proud to be able to help them in their work. Customers of Morrisons
were very generous in their support. From comments we received whilst collecting, people are
so very pleased to support the work of Marie Curie and many have had relatives and friends
who have been cared for by their nurses”.
