Boredom Erased by Sue Mullinger

Boredom Erased
Its’ not stopped raining! Mobiles’ gone awry!
I wish the sun would shine; wish day soon dry!
Today dragged, hour longer than one before!
I will not watch film! Not reading anymore!

Then I hear a frantic knocking at front door,
Neighbours child, “Do I want to play some more?”
“I have brought my crayons and we can draw!”
“Want to sit at table?” I asked, “Or on floor?”

Realise two hours pass as we play games!
My bad mood has lifted; girl feels the same!
“Thank you!” I say as she leaves for her tea,
“Later” she asked, “Will you play schools with me?”
